This late
19th century building was at one time a cobbler's shop at the corner
of Main Street and School Street which
Spaulding had moved to the property in 1950 and then remodeled. Though
this house is quite small, it is very cozy and unusual. In
the living room/dining area there are beautiful wall murals of
Chatham's harbors painted by the now deceased local artist, Harold
Dunbar (a distant relative to Spaulding), as well as a nice view
of the Mill Pond. There is cable TV/VCR, a compact kitchen,
and a bath (shower), as well as a small double bedroom addition. Up
steep stairs is an open balcony containing two built in twin beds.
